lyrics

I wandered through a museum in my dreams.
It showed me all the things that I wanted to be,
Like a writer or a singer in a ska-punk band
Or a comedian who shared a laugh with the land.
In the center of the hall was a stack of skulls.
A hundred and five of my attempted goals.
On the top of the pile I saw your head.
You smiled at me and then you said

Keep on, work hard for what you want.
It's not that tough, take little steps.
One day you could be the best.
Sing songs, that mean something to you.
If the words you say resonate
They'll sing along, it's not to late.

I found myself in a house on a hill
With a dragonfly on the windowsill.
Rain hit the glass and trickled 'round.
In the water was a message saying "Don't look down".
When I woke up morning had stole the night
And for once I felt I'd been doing right.
I stepped outside and smiled to the sky.
A stranger walked past and asked me why

Keep on, work hard for what you want.
It's not that tough, take little steps.
One day you could be the best.
Sing songs, that mean something to you.
If the words you say resonate
They'll sing along, it's not to late.

I hopped on my skateboard and popped and ollie.
I'm not that good, before running I'm crawling.
Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at it.
I'm gonna do everything I want to do,
Be everything I need to be.
And when I'm done I know you'll still be gone
But your words will be right here with me.

Keep on.
